This Privacy Policy explains how DramaHaus (“DramaHaus”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the DramaHaus service: the DramaHaus app for iOS, the same app published on Google Play under the name Ishort, the website at dramahaus.app, and any related services (together, the “Service”).
By using the Service you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meaning given in our Terms of Service.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what the Service needs to work. We do not ask for your real name, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location or payment card details.
1.1 Information you give us
- Sign-in details. If you sign in with email, we collect your email address and send a one-time six-digit code to it. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an identifier for your account and, if you allow it, the email address (which may be a private relay address) and display name those providers share. We never see your Apple or Google password.
- Preferences. The language, genres and moods you choose during onboarding, your subtitle and playback-speed settings, and your maturity setting (General, Teen or Mature).
- Support messages. Anything you send to support@dramahaus.app, including the app version and device model the app adds to a support email so we can help you faster.
1.2 Information created as you use the Service
- Guest identifier. When you first open the app we create a random identifier for your device so that your progress and preferences survive between sessions before you sign in. If you later sign in, the history from that identifier is merged into your account.
- Watch activity. Which dramas and episodes you start, how far you get, which you finish, which you skip, which you save or remove from your library, and what you search for.
- Purchases and wallet. Your coin balance, coin packs you buy, episodes you unlock, your Premium subscription status (plan, renewal date, whether it will renew, and which store it came from), refunds and adjustments. Payment is taken by Apple or Google; we receive a transaction record, not your card number.
- Usage events. Events such as onboarding completed, content shown, episode started, playback heartbeat, thirty seconds watched, episode completed, fast skip, search submitted, paywall shown, coin pack selected, purchase outcome, episode unlocked, playback error and playback retry. Each event carries a session identifier, your guest or account identifier, the app version and platform, your locale and your country.
- Device and technical data. App version, operating system and version, device model, language setting, IP address, and diagnostic details about playback failures. We do not use a device advertising identifier.
- Country. We determine the country you are connecting from at our network edge (from your IP address) to decide which dramas are licensed for your region. We store the country, not your precise location.
1.3 Information from third parties
- Apple and Google confirm your identity when you sign in with them and process your purchases.
- RevenueCat, our purchase-validation provider, tells us when a purchase, renewal, cancellation, refund or billing issue happens so that your coins and Premium access are correct.

We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you. Recommendations only change the order in which content is shown.
3. Legal bases (EEA, UK and similar jurisdictions)
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you asked for, including playback, your library, sign-in and purchases.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the Service secure, prevent fraud, understand usage, improve the product and personalise your feed, balanced against your rights.
- Consent — where we ask for it, for example before showing mature content. You may withdraw consent at any time in the app’s settings.
- Legal obligation — to keep transaction records and respond to lawful requests.
4. How we share information
We share information only with the parties below, and only as needed to run the Service.
- Service providers that process data on our instructions: cloud hosting and database providers, a content-delivery and edge network that serves video and determines your country, an email-delivery provider that sends sign-in codes, and RevenueCat for purchase validation. Each is bound by contract to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.
- Apple and Google as independent controllers for sign-in and for payments. Their privacy policies apply to what they collect.
- Content licensors may receive aggregated, non-identifying viewing statistics (for example, how many times an episode was watched in a country). They do not receive your account details.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, court order or governmental request, or where we believe in good faith it is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of DramaHaus, our users or the public.
- Business transfers. If DramaHaus is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5. Advertising and selling of data
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. The apps contain no third-party advertising or ad-tracking software, and we do not use device advertising identifiers.
6. How long we keep information
- Account data, library, unlocks and preferences — for as long as your account exists, so that what you own and where you left off stay available to you.
- Guest data — tied to your device identifier until you sign in (when it is merged into your account) or until it has been unused for an extended period, after which it is deleted.
- Purchase and wallet records — for as long as needed to provide the Service and afterwards for the period required by tax, accounting and consumer-protection law.
- Usage events and diagnostics — in identifiable form for a limited period needed to operate and improve the Service, then aggregated or deleted.
- Sign-in codes — for a few minutes, until they expire.
- Support messages — for as long as needed to resolve your request and for a reasonable time afterwards.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Delete your personal information (see section 8);
- Restrict or object to certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
- Port your data to another service in a machine-readable format;
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent;
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights; and
- Complain to a data-protection authority in your country.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@dramahaus.app from the address linked to your account, or include enough detail for us to verify that you are the account holder. We respond within the time required by applicable law, and in any case within 30 days. You may also use an authorised agent where the law allows it; we may ask the agent for proof of authorisation.
In the app you can, at any time: change your language, genre and maturity preferences; remove dramas from your library; sign out; and see your full purchase history.
8. Deleting your account
You can ask us to delete your account and the personal information associated with it at any time by emailing support@dramahaus.app with the subject “Delete my account”. Please write from the email address linked to your account, or, if you signed in with Apple or Google, tell us which provider you used so we can verify you.
When your account is deleted, your watch history, library, preferences and sign-in details are removed. Coins and unlocked episodes on the account are lost and cannot be restored. We keep only what the law requires us to keep (such as transaction records) and de-identified data that can no longer be linked to you. Active subscriptions are not cancelled by deleting your account: cancel them in the App Store or Google Play first, otherwise the store will continue to bill you.
9. Security
We protect your information with technical and organisational measures appropriate to its sensitivity, including encryption in transit, encrypted storage of credentials and secrets, short-lived sign-in codes, access controls for our staff, and separate environments for development and production. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
10. International transfers
The Service is available in many countries, and our service providers operate globally. Your information may therefore be stored and processed in countries other than the one you live in, including countries whose data-protection laws differ from yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses approved by the relevant authorities, and we require our providers to protect your information to the standard described in this policy.
11. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age that applies in your country, such as 16 in parts of the European Union), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Some dramas are marked Teen or Mature and are hidden unless the maturity setting is changed. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at support@dramahaus.app and we will delete it.
12. Regional disclosures
European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland
DramaHaus is the controller of your personal information. The legal bases in section 3 apply. You have the rights listed in section 7 and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
California and other U.S. states
In the preceding twelve months we have collected the categories of personal information described in section 1: identifiers, commercial information, internet or network activity, approximate geolocation (country), and inferences used for recommendations. We use them for the purposes in section 2 and disclose them to service providers as described in section 4. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. You may exercise your rights to know, delete, correct and to non-discrimination as described in section 7.
Vietnam
We process personal data in accordance with Vietnam’s Personal Data Protection Decree. You may request access to, correction of, deletion of or restriction on the processing of your personal data, and withdraw consent, using the contact details in section 15.
Other countries
Residents of other countries with data-protection laws (including Brazil, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea and others) may exercise the rights available to them under those laws by contacting us.
13. Third-party services
The Service depends on the following third parties. Their own privacy policies govern what they collect:
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store payments and subscriptions. Apple Privacy Policy
- Google — Sign in with Google, Google Play payments and subscriptions. Google Privacy Policy
- RevenueCat — purchase validation and subscription status. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
- Cloudflare — content delivery, video streaming and edge security. Cloudflare Privacy Policy
The website at dramahaus.app is a static site. It sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics scripts. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may record your IP address to serve them.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
